Joe McGuire graduated from Wesleyan University with a B.A. in Psychology. While at Wesleyan, Joe was an active member in student government and community service projects. During the summers of 2004 and 2005, Joe was the Academic Coordinator for the Health Professions Partnership Initiative, a program committed to increasing the number of disadvantaged students entering the health professions.
In 2005, Joe began a clinical research assistantship at Yale University's Child Study Center. Since then, Joe has coordinated projects that develop and evaluate empirically supported treatments for individuals with anxiety, autism spectrum disorders, Tourette syndrome, obsessive-compulsive disorder. He has contributed to the authorship of several peer-reviewed articles that have appeared in publications such as the Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Molecular Psychiatry, and Ethics & Behavior.
Joe serves as a member of the Board of Directors, where he brings over four years of evaluative research experience to the College Outreach team. Currently, he directs the development of educational and training initiatives for the national organization, and collaborates on the strategic growth and organization of College Outreach.
