Kristi Lockhart

A licensed clinical psychologist, Kristi Lockhart graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Pomona College in California. She received her master’s degree from Stanford University and her doctorate in psychology from University of Pennsylvania. After completing an internship at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, Kristi worked as a clinician at Family and Children’s Service in Ithaca, New York. As a Senior Lecturer in the psychology department at Cornell University for over 15 years, Kristi taught courses in abnormal psychology, depression, and psychotherapy. She also directed a large fieldwork course in psychopathology in which each year more than 50 students worked in the community at clinical placements. She was an advisor to Cornell’s chapter of Golden Key and served on the board of Group Homes, Inc. While at Cornell, Kristi received the Clark teaching award and was named Professor of the Year by the Greek organizations. In l998, she moved to Yale University where she created a fieldwork course in community psychology. In 2004, Kristi received the Elm- Ivy award for helping to develop ties between Yale students and Fellowship Place, a social club for the psychiatrically disabled in the New Haven community. In addition to teaching in the psychology department, Kristi is the associate master of Morse College at Yale, advisor to Mind Matters, and co-leader of the Morse Mellon Senior Forum. Having been a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University, Kristi continues to be involved in developmental research on children’s beliefs about traits as well as their understanding of cognitive deviance.
